Project Maargam: Phase 1 - Building Foundations for Success

Overview:

The launch of Phase 1 of Project Maargam marked a significant milestone for us. The event, held at the Swabhimaan Center for Learning in Rajendranagara, was attended by various dignitaries, mentors, students, and community members.


Speakers and Addresses:

The event featured inspiring addresses on the importance of education by Dr. Venkat, founder of the Swabhimaan Center for Learning, and Mr. Arif Pasha, the education head for Swabhimaan. Their insights underscored the critical role of education in transforming lives and communities.


Attendees:

The session was graced by motivational trainer and former IBM engineer, Sanjay Lavkare, and saw the participation of 35 students enrolled in the program, along with their parents, guardians, and family members.


Mentors:

Several mentors attended the launch to support and guide our students, including:

- Ms. Rhunmayi Shankar, Chartered Accountant

- Mr. Mario D'Vaz, HR Partner, Accenture

- Mr. Saideep J, Associate at King and Partridge

- Mr. Mayank Virmani, Engineer, Akamai Technologies


Community Engagement:

The event highlighted the importance of community engagement and support. Catering was provided by All Saints Bakery and a local vendor from the Rajendranagara community, Ms. Nasreen Taju. Residents of the area actively participated in the event, reflecting the community's enthusiasm and commitment to the project's success.

The event was proudly sponsored by the Panobiz Foundation, Project Maargam's sponsor and principal benefactor. The foundation works bringing about towards social transformation in the states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka, and are committed to bringing a positive change, aligning with our mission to provide essential resources for students. The Panobiz Foundation is a strategic ally and we are proud to be associated with them.


Swabhiman, our esteemed community development partner, plays a crucial role in our efforts to drive positive change in the community. Both organizations are pivotal in our collective endeavor to enhance educational accessibility and opportunities.


Inspirational True-life Stories:

A highlight of the event was the narration of true-life stories of individuals and their inspiring pursuit of education, facilitated by Ms. Meghna Guha, a Teach For India fellow. These powerful stories underscored the importance of resilience, determination, and passion for education.


Future Endeavours:

Project Maargam is dedicated to continuing its work in community development activities and collaborations with organizations committed to social change. Our goal is to empower students to become community leaders, bridging educational gaps and fostering a supportive environment for future generations.


The launch of Phase 1 was a resounding success, setting the stage for ongoing efforts to create a more equitable and accessible educational landscape.
